Advanced file synchronization

Multiple profiles
Save all your settings as profiles in order to reuse them later. Profiles can be run from SmarterSync™ or the command line.
Task scheduler
SmarterSync™ can run profiles automatically as often as you need it. Backup and synchronization tasks can even be run as a service under Windows NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista.
Internet protocols support
SmarterSync™ comes with support for FTP, Secure FTP, SSH, FTPS, WebDAV and Amazon S3 Online Storage.
Smart tracking
The Smart Tracking feature lets you track all the moved or even deleted files, eliminating file conflicts and data losses.
Versioning support
With SmarterSync™ you can backup and store several versions of the same file, so that you will be able to roll back to the previous version at any time.
Database-aware backup
SmarterSync™ uses a special method to backup and sync database files to prevent data corruption problems.
Moved files tracking
SmarterSync™ always keeps your data up-to-date. All the changes in the file system you make will be reflected in the backup.
Unattended mode
Using this mode, you can automate the backup process. Just set the rules which specify what types of files can be overwritten and let SmarterSync™ do the job for you.
Locked files backup
Under Windows XP/2003 Server/Vista, SmarterSync™ uses the Volume Shadow Service to backup files locked by other applications. In other cases SmarterSync™ will keep trying to copy locked files until it succeeds or the time limit for retries is exceeded.
Safe file synchronization
With SmarterSync™ you can keep previous versions of files in the Recycle Bin, so that you can retrieve them in the future.
File masks
Using file masks, such as *.doc, *.xls, *.pdf, etc., you can specify what types of files to backup or not to backup.
Trouble-free backup process resuming
Unlike many others, SmarterSync™ does not abort the copying process if the backup disk is full. It just stops until you add more storage space.
Exact mirrors
The Exact mirror option lets you create exactly the same copy of your data in the backup.
Daylight Saving Time support
SmarterSync™ can ignore the 1-hour difference in the timestamps of the files, ensuring that DST changes won’t cause any problems during the backup.
Obsolete files folder
SmarterSync™ lets you significantly reduce the usage of your system resources during the backup. You can create a special archive folder called Obsolete Files which won’t be synchronized during the backup. Files moved to this folder on your PC will be moved to the same folder on your laptop, but SmarterSync™ will not waste time and CPU resources synchronizing them.
